American Idol finalist, Phillip Phillips will be having kidney surgery after the finale.
E!News got the details that Phillips will have the surgery in Georgia after completing publicity duties such as interviews, after tonight’s American Idol finale.
Phillips has been dealing with this health concern throughout the season.
In March, the talented rocker was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe abdominal pains. Due to him participating in American Idol, he had been putting off the surgery in hopes of winning the grand prize.
Although Phillips was able to stay in American Idol unitl the end, the surgery will have to affect his summer tour with American Idol. E! News confirmed that he may miss a couple of dates at the start of the tour, depednding on his recovery.
Phillips is competing with Jessica Sanchez for the title of this season’s American Idol winner tonight on Fox.
