An Academy Conversation with Danny Boyle

 DANNY BOYLE will be answering questions before the rare 35mm screening of his 1994 directorial debut, SHALLOW GRAVE.

The event is hosted by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, on Thursday April 4th at 7 p.m. Location: The Academy Theater, 111 East 59th Street, between Park and Lex, New York City. Tickets go on sale March 19.

SHALLOW GRAVE, is a dark comedy thriller revolving around a little murder among friends. EWAN McGREGOR, KERRY FOX and CHRISTOPHER ECCELSTON star.

The original screenplay was written by JOHN HODGE, who also adapted the award winning, TRAINSPOTTING, directed by Danny Boyle.

Set in Edinburgh, Scotland, three flat mates seek a fourth boarder to share the rent on their stylish flat. He moves in, locks the door, and is never seen again.

The story takes a startling turn when they break into his room and discover the flat mate dead from an overdose, leaving behind a suitcase full of cash. Greed takes over as they decide to bury him and steal the money.

As the police and drug dealers get closer to figuring out what happened, the friends become increasingly paranoid and violent.

Danny Boyle is best known for winning the OSCAR for BEST DIRECTOR   for the Best Picture in 2008,  SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.

Danny’s next feature is TRANCE (due in April), about an art auctioneer who gets involved with a group of criminals. When a valuable painting goes missing, he teams up with a hypnotherapist to try and locate the stolen property. It stars, JAMES McEVOY, VINCENT CASSEL, and ROSARIO DAWSON.
