Andy Samberg: From SNL to BBC

The  comic, most famous for his digital shorts, announced to the New York Times last week that has was officially leaving SNL reported the Chicago Tribune. Now for his post SNL debut he will appear not on American television or film but on British TV, BBC Three. He has signed on to do a six part comedy series called Cuckoo. Samberg will play a eccentric slacker whom is constantly coming up with wildly imaginative ideas. His character will play opposite to Welsh actor Greg Davies.

The man who made the SNL digital short and brought us the classics like Lazy Sunday and Throw it on the Ground will now be, “cement[ing] the special relationship between our two great countries,” said Ash Atalla, Executive Producer of Cuckoo and The Office, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He went onto promote the new series by calling it a union between, “the best of British meets the toast of Hollywood.”
