Ben Platt is making waves on Broadway in “Dear Evan Hansen” but he recently took the stage to sing a Judy Garland classic.
Each year the MCC Theatre hosts its Miscast gala. Miscast features performances by the greatest talents in New York theatre singing songs from roles in which they would otherwise be “miscast.”
Ben took the stage to sing “The Man That Got Away” from A Star Is Born and blew me a way. “I spent a good part of my childhood dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I have always had a real fascination with Judy Garland and just worshipped her,” said Ben.
You may remember him from his role as Benji in the Pitch Perfect movies. He has a great voice there but wow!
