For all of us Dexter fans we have been waiting for the new season to return and now it’s the 8th and final season. Last season was a doozie. Debra (Jennifer Capenter) found out that her brother Dexter (Michael C. Hall) was a serial killer. On top of that Lt. Maria La Guerta (Lauren Vélez) was on to Dexter and thought he was the Bay Harbor Butcher. Dexter couldn’t have that so he was going to kill La Guerta. When she came after him in the shipping container he knocked her out. Once again Deb had to come La Guerta woke up and told Deb to kill Dexter but she didn’t she killed La Guerta. This is where the new season picks up.
If you have seen the previews Deb is not herself and she wants nothing to do with Dexter. She tells him “You made me compromise everything I cared about. I hate you for it. I shot the wrong person.” She has tremendous guilt over the whole situation. Dexter is trying desperately to get her back and have her forgive him.
I got to watch the first four episodes of the season and I can tell you we are in for a ride. Of course there is a new serial killer as always. There is a new character that is making Dexter think about who he is. Deb is trying to find her way and many many more twists and turns.

Let’s start things off Deb is no longer working at Miami Metro. She took off one day and never returned. She now works as a P.I. She is working on a burglary case and may have taken it too far.
Deb is not doing great she is on drugs and alcohol and doesn’t want to face life.
Dexter seemed to have moved on from La Guerta’s murder but Deb isn’t speaking to him and he can’t stand it.
There is a new killer that would give Dr. Frankenstein a run for his money. The Chief brings in a Neuro Psychologist that knows Dexter more than he wants.
The 8th season of Dexter airs Sunday June 30th on Showtime and 9PM ET
