Disco Queen Donna Summer dies at the age of 63

It’s with great sadness that the music industry and the world says goodbye to a musical icon. At the age of 63, Donna Summer (born LaDonna Adrian Gaines) has succumb to her long battle with lung cancer. The singer had been quietly battling the illness for years, but elected to keep her private life, private. Summers is credited as being the “Queen of Disco” and has brought us huge hits such as “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls.” She co-wrote the single “Love to Love You Baby” in 1975, and went on to co-write additional hits, including “She Works Hard For Her Money.” While we say goodbye to a legend, let’s remember her as she would have liked to be remebered, through music.
