Goyte Is Over His Own Music

Goyte’s Billboard Hot 100,No.1 song, “Somebody That I Used to Know,” is a huge hit these days and it seems like everyone can’t get enough. Everyone, but Goyte himself.

Gotye performed a private concert for less than 100 people, Monday at Hollywood’s Sayers Club. Goyte refused to perform the popular song at his concert.

Celebs at the concert included Demi Moore’s daughter Rumor Willis and reality star Audrina Patridge. The private concert was hosted by L.A. radio station 98.7 FM.

During his concert, Australian artist took the time to clarify some remarks that had been written by his home country’s The Sunday Mail, about the song’s “Glee” cover performed on the April 10th episode.

Apparently, he had said that Darren Criss and Matt Bomer’s Glee version was “dinky” and “wrong.” However, Gotye defended his words, by saying that he thought even the original was “dinky” due to the usage of a xylophone.

“I thought it was really clever to transpose the song to two guys …it was a great idea,” Gotye told The Hollywood Reporter.

Let’s hope Gotye doesn’t hate the Glee cover, because someone has to agree, the Glee version defiantly has some soul and dramatic interpretation.

Besides, Goyte, let’s hope you don’t hate your song because everyone else loves it. That would just be plain silly. Sure, it can get overplayed, but the song is just so catchy and deep, who would want to stop listening to it?
