A renowned medical engineer is on her first mission in space, accompanied by a veteran astronaut played by George Clooney. An asteroid shower causes mayhem and separates the travelers from their spacecraft.

Bruce Dern stars in his first leading man role, and has been nominated for Best Actor, playing a cantankerous 78 year old man who wrongly believes he has won the lottery and is determined to go to Lincoln to get the money even if it means walking there. His estranged son (played by Will Forte of SNL) breaks down and drives him. June Squibb is also nominated as Supporting Actress for her role as his equally curmudgeon wife. Shot in black and white.
Thor 2: The Dark World. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDb Pro-rating 7.4. Chris Hemsworth as Thor in this Marvel comic story, who saves Earth and all of its 9 worlds from a shadowy enemy bent on revenge. Natalie Portman plays the love interest.
Blue is the Warmest Color. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDb Por-rating 8.1. Winner at Cannes Film Festival for Best Picture, it is the controversial French film that tells the story of a woman who falls in love with a woman with blue hair who encourages her to be herself and supports her dreams. Explicit romance.
