Well, even though there still isn’t a cemented start date for the new Star Trek series, ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘, it appears the production team has found it’s lead Captain: Actor Jason Isaacs–Most known for his role as Lucius Malfoy, in the Harry Potter series of films, he will now get the center seat as the Starship Discovery’s Captain, Captain Lorca.
He joins other cast members Sonequa Martin-Green, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Rapp, Doug Jones and James Frain to embark on a mission that’s set roughly ten years prior to the “Kirk/Spock” time frame in the expansive Star Trek universe of TV shows and films.
Not much else to report as the word on the street is that the overall production of this series continues to be lambasted by delays. The latest appears to be from the fact its female lead, Sonequa Martin-Green, has commitments to her other series, ‘The Walking Dead,’ that ultimately forced CBS CEO Les Moonves, to delay Discovery until an unspecified date this fall. Time will tell if the delays detract from how well this new iteration of Star Trek is received. Nuff said.
