Francis Lawrence (no relation to Jennifer, other than the fact that he directed 3 of the 4 Hunger Game films), directs Jason Matthews novel, from a script by Justin Haythe and Eric Warren Singer.
This Russian spy thriller lands in theaters, November 10, 2017, just in time for the holidays. Generating positive enthusiasm at the festivals, Red Sparrow stars Jennifer Lawrence as Dominka, a woman trained against her will, to be a seductress for Russian Security Intelligence, with her body as her most lethal weapon. Given a top assignment of shadowing top CIA agent Nate Nash, played by Joel Edgerton, the two become involved in a game of dangerous love and deception.
An outstanding ensemble cast including, Mary Louise Parker, Jeremy Irons, Matthias Schoenaerts, Joely Richardson and Charlotte Rampling, have Red Sparrow already generating Oscar buzz.
