The Olympics are coming! The Olympics are coming! That is what I was thinking weeks ago. Now they are here! I don’t know why I get all excited about them. I joked with my sister. I’m going go watch and think about what we could have been. It’s an event that doesn’t happen every day, maybe that’s the case. It’s one time that almost the whole world comes together to watch one event and put their differences aside. It’s quite unbelievable. I wish we could do that every day.
I got home after the opening ceremonies started so I had to catch up on the festivities. I sat down and turned on the DVR and started watching. The opening ceremonies are always a big deal. For me, this one wasn’t that great. It was pretty much a history of England from beginning till now. Interesting, maybe, but not spectacular. I think Beijing spoiled us.
The games started the next day and it’s been a crazy games so far records being set, Michael Phelps not making it, making it, Missy Franklin a 17-year-old break out star. I have been at the edge of my seat at times. I spoke to my friend she didn’t even know the Olympics were on. What? How could you not? I can’t be the only one excited and watching the game and screaming at the TV.
