Scarlett Johansson is Lucy, a Sci-Fi thriller about a female gone wild with power as 100% of her brain-power is unleashed on mankind, while Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tackles Brett Ratner’s Hercules. As both films garner positive critical reviews they duel it out for your ticket at this weekend’s box office.
Lucy also stars Morgan Freeman and Min-sik Choi.
Hercules focuses on the second half of the legend’s life, after he has completed the 12 tasks and decides to become a mercenary. With a small band of faithful warriors they sell their skills to the highest bidder. Ian McShane, Riece Ritchie, and Ingrid Bolso Berdal also star.
Both films will be competing with the highly anticipated Comic-Con in San Diego, offering up lots of celebrity surprises and guest appearances. Guillermo del Toro showed up already, as did Mathew McConaughey. Jack Black was all too happy to pose with friends and co-stars of his upcoming film Goosebumps.
Congratulations to Glee’s Naya Rivera, who married actor Ryan Dorsey (Mob City) this past week in a surprise ceremony in Cabo San Lucas. Naya was stunning in a Monique Lhuillier gown, while the groom was stylish in a Docle & Gabbana suit.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is the new face of Paige fashion, where she celebrated with the labels founder Paige Adams-Geller at Selfridges department store in London.
