Ridley Scott’s directorial return to the ‘Alien Universe’ will hit screens on May 19th, 2017 in the form of Alien Covenant. Recently, speaking with Comingsoon.net, one of the film’s stars, Michael Fassbender, alluded to the secondary character he will be playing in the sequel to Prometheus:

I think Walter’s a real different kettle of fish. David was definitely a work-in-progress, somewhat of a prototype I suppose. The elements of him that were the human elements I think people found a little disturbing, so Walter’s more of a straightforward robot. Pretty logical, much more of a servant without the ego.

These remarks from Fassbender certainly cement we will get not one but two android characters in Alien Covenant, and the idea a talent like him gets to play against himself should be an incredible thing to see.

It’s also easy to surmise that based on the plot of Covenant, ‘Walter’ will most likely be an android that’s a member of the ship that lands on the engineer planet that David has been hanging out on. Will the two robots end up in fisticuffs or will they collaborate against their human counterparts? Should be interesting however it shapes up! Nuff said.
