NBC’s New Hit Smash Renewed For Second Season

The NBC new series Smash, is set for a second season, with 15 episodes to air,Deadline Hollywood reports.The news doesn’t come to much surprise, since Smash was ranked as the network’s highest-rated drama in adults 18-49.

Smash, produced by Steven Spielberg, is about the creation of a Broadway musical based on Marilyn Monroe. Cast includes Debra Messing, Christian Borle, Anjelica Huston, Megan Hitly, Katharine McPhee and Jack Davenport.

Although, ratings did drop the day after the Super Bowl, Smash is back on track due to the high promotion given by its $25 million estimated marketing campaign.
