Nora Ephron, Writer-Director of Sleepless in Seattle Dies

Nora Ephron,a talented writer and director of greats films such as When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, as well as drama,Silkwood died Tuesday. She was 71.

Ephron “passed away June 26, 2012 at 7:40 pm at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center surrounded by her family. The cause of death was acute myeloid leukemia,” her family told PEOPLE in a recent statement.

“We thank you all for your thoughts.”

Her romantic comedies which hit the heart of many, included A-list actresses as Meg Ryan, Amy Adams, Meryl Streep and Cher.

Nora was a three-time Oscar nominee whos films will always be remembered. RIP Nora Ephron.
