Nurse Jackie Back for Fifth Season

Special Correspondent: James Jewett

Nurse Jackie is nearing the end of its fourth season and it could be a “new year” of sorts for the show. With new years come clean starts and the show is taking full advantage of this notion by placing former “Dexter” show runner Clyde Phillips in the driver seat reports The Hollywood Reporter.

He will be replacing the co-creators Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius as he steps in for the fifth season. This change comes to bring fresh ideas to the show that wasn’t exactly hurting as the fourth season’s premiere garnered 1.1 million viewers which was up 30 percent from its prior season. Phillips brings an Emmy nomination to the table as well as his skills as a best-selling mystery novelist with a fourth book titled “Unthinkable” to be published in January by Amazon. Phillips is repped by CAA.
