Oprah’s Interview With Whitney Houston’s Family

Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina

Sunday’s episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter with Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law, brother and daughter brought in 3.5 million viewers. This is the highest ratings yet for OWN .

The interview was very emotional. The family shared their last moments with Whitney, their feelings on her drug abuse, what happened to her on the day of her death and more.

Parts of it were very hard to watch. It was great to see daughter, Bobbi Kristina talk about her mom and show that she is doing ok. Right after Whitney’s death Bobbi Kristina went to the hospital. She said she still feels her mom around her. She is always with her and getting her through. I wanted to reach in and just hug her.

Then Patricia Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager spoke about the day she died and what happened. Whitney was found in her bathroom at the Beverly Hilton hotel. She was in the bathtub. They don’t know how she got in there. Patricia’s account is just haunting walking down the hallway and hearing screams. She saw the hair stylist drop to her knees and she told someone to call 9-1-1 right away without knowing what happened. Watch what Patricia has to say.

Gary Houston, Whitney’s brother stated that Bobby Brown was invited to the funeral and was supposed to be there. He doesn’t know what happened why he left. He said his mother is doing ok she has her good and bad days. That was her only daughter so it’s very hard. Then Gary sings one of Whitney’s songs to Oprah and breaks down crying, so did Oprah and so did I. Ugh it was so hard to watch. The pain is still so fresh.

It was a great interview. Whitney Houston was a great singer and did so many great things during her life. She like so many fought many demons but had to do it in the public eye. She was a great mom, friend, and sister. All the best to her family and friends.
