Lauren Graham, former single mother of the WB series The Gilmore Girls, is now a single mother on the new show Parenthood. After contract negotiations fell apart for Helen Hunt (WHAT WOMEN WANT) NBC offered the part of Maura Tierny but she had to back out due to illness. The part has now been offered to Graham.
