The top five most anticipated films for 2017 was voted on via Rotten Tomatoes (Rottentomatoes.com) in which they surveyed hundreds of “tomatometer-critics” nationwide. The results are as follows:
1. Star Wars: Episode VIII
2. Bladerunner 2049
3. Alien: Covenant
4. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
5. War for the Planet of the Apes
According to Rotten Tomatoes, their ratings system “represents the percentage of professional reviews that are positive for a given film or television show and is used by millions of fans to help with their entertainment viewing decisions.” So, it goes without saying they have a pretty granular formula down for trying to ensure films being voted on are indeed being voted on by credible people.
