Actor and producer, Samuel L. Jacskson is set to star opposite John Cusack in the Stephen King thriller, Cell, which is scheduled to start filming in January of 2014.  The movie has been adapted from the 2006 novel that tells the story of a sudden “signal” that is sent to all cell phones, and all who are using the phones are turned into zombie-like killers that start attacking everyone.  In amidst all of the chaos, a trio of unaffected people is formed as they struggle to survive in the new world.

It has been reported that Jackson will be playing character, Tom McCourt, a previous military man, who forms an alliance with Cusack’s character, Clayton Riddell, as they attempt to escape Boston.  Paranormal Activity 2 director Tod Williams has signed on to direct, while the script has been written by Stephen King and Adam Alleca.

Jackson has been in the acting business for over 40 years and has appeared in over 100 movies including Goodfellas, Jungle Fever, Jurassic Park, Jackie Brown, Shaft, Coach Carter, Django Unchained, among many more.
