San Francisco X Factor Auditions!!

Britney Spears is presented to the crowd
Special Correspondent Karla Gregg

I had the oppurtunity to attend the Oakland/San Francisco auditions taping on Monday.

Many contestants participated in the X Factor auditions where judges Simon Cowell, L.A.Reid, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears put their judging caps on.

Overall there was some talented people, but in other cases, I felt so bad for the judges having to tell those with no talent that they needed to find a new career path. Like when Britney Spears told a contestant, “You look like a tennis player… Maybe you should take up a sport.”

New judges, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears had to prove to the audience that they had great feedback for the contestants.

Britney Spears seemed to hold back and didn’t interact with the audience as much as Demi. However, I could totally understand why. The crowd kept booing when Spears would tell a contestant “no” or when she finally would give someone critical feedback. It definently felt like she was putting up a wall so the crowd wouldn’t dislike her. Did they know it was BRITNEY SPEARS?—Pop Princess!? Who ever was booing her was INSANE!

Demi Lovato on the other hand, was not afraid to say what was on her mind. She even had the guts to call Simon “Slime-n” and even mentioned he was single to a couple of the female contestants. Simon and Lovato’s judge relationship was hilarious! Being the teenager she is, Simon even called her “annoying” a couple of times. However, Lovato had to agree after she told a contestant they could omgee be “besties forever.”

One of the contestants sang “Oops I Did It Again” by Britney Spears and well, he completely butchered it.

Demi responded by saying,

“I think it’s really hard when people sing Whitney, Adele, Britney Spears, you just can’t do their songs like they do.”

And Spears herself said,

“It’s weird when someone sings my songs, because they’re my songs.”

In other words, they both hated his performance.

Also the rumors of Britney Spears walking away during the contestants performances are complete nonsense. The only time I saw the judges walk off was during their break and they were even kind enough to take pictures with the surrouding fans.

By the end of the auditions, I must admit I was exhausted! I don’t know how the judges go through the auditioning process for days, they most defienetly deserve kudos!
