Amazing, laugh out loud, exciting…that’s how I would describe Shrek the Musical at the Pantages Theatre in LA. I was invited to attend for a special blogger night in the “social swamp.” It was great and we got a great price on tickets.
I have seen all the Shrek movies so I knew what the story was about. I saw the NY cast on the Tony Awards and loved the number they did. I was so excited to go and brought my friend along with me to have a few laughs. There were so many kids there which was great to see because I hope they will grow up and love Broadway as much as me. The kids were laughing but there was a lot of adult humor. I heard one kid say behind me, “Mom why is everyone laughing, what did he say?” It was funny.
The show was great with so many one liners and fabulous songs. Also, I got to see all the characters I saw in the movie come to life on the stage. I have to say my favorite character was Lord Farquaad played by David Vaughn. I don’t know how David does it but every time he is on stage he is walking on his knees because Lord Farquaad is supposed to be very short. It’s hysterical to watch. He was amazing and hilarious. One of my favorite number is “What’s Up Duloc?” The whole cast was amazing really I highly recommend seeing the show. Shrek is playing at the Pantages until July 31st. Bring the kids, go with your friends, you will love it and have a great time.
