Star Wars Boba Fett Spin-Off Film A Reality?

For those who wanted to get more insight into the untold back story of the Boba Fett character as seen in the original Star Wars films The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of The Jedi, it’s looking like you’ll get your wish!

Per a source who has worked on the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon, Jon Schnepp, who was a director of 34 episodes of the former Cartoon Network show, he has been quoted recently stating: One of [the standalone Star Wars prequels] is Boba Fett,” said Schnepp, whose channel also aired Lucasfilm’s CGI “Star Wars: Clone Wars” series. “It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.

Kasdan should be a familiar name to film buffs as he had a direct hand in writing the screenplays for Raiders of The Lost Ark, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of The Jedi, as well as having directed and written the 80s films Body Heat, and The Big Chill.

I’m sure anything regarding these spin-offs is subject to change, and it will primarily depend on how much of a success the current Star Wars film in production will ultimately be. My only devils advocate here is do we really want a spin-off film about Boba Fett? Personally, I’d prefer another film set about 5-10 years before the events in A New Hope, to maybe see how characters like Grand Moff Tarkin rose to power and had more control over things than that of Darth Vader, or possible a bigger insight into the dealings of Han Solo at the time.
