A reboot of the Clint Eastwood film from the 70’s, Sofia Coppola adds some spice to her bag of tricks and ends up with a box office winner. The all-star ensemble cast contributes to the chilling, all too human deeds of women and their starved libido. Colin Farrell plays a Yankee soldier wounded on Confederate soil near a proper Southern school for girls run by uptight school mistress, Nicole Kidman. Finding him unconscious, the young women carry him inside their school/plantation house, nurturing him back to health. Every female has an eye on him, young and old, including Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning. The jealousy and betrayal puts him in such jeopardy, he would have been better off left for dead.

The Bad Batch. Sci-Fi/Horror. IMDB pro-rating 6.1 with a 48% satisfaction score on Rotten Tomatoes. Writer-Director Ana Lily Amirpour directs Keany Reeves, Jim Carrey, Suki Waterhouse, Jason Momoa and Diego Luna in a scary tale of a young woman that gets trapped in a Texas wasteland inhabited by cannibals.

The Big Sick. Comedy. IMDB pro-rating 7.0 with a 98% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes. Pakistani comic Kumali Nanjiani wrote the script (with Emily V. Gordon), and stars in this Judd Apatow produced, Michael Showalter directed film about a Pakistan man who falls for an American girl and begins to worry about how his parents will take to the romance. When she falls into a coma, he becomes very close to her parents and they from a bond. Zoe Kazan, Holly Hunter, Ray Romano and Bo Burnham star.
