‘The Founder’, ‘Split’, “Teen Titans’, ‘Sleepless’, ‘Punching Henry’, On DVD April 18.

The Founder. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDB pro-rating 7.2 with 84% satisfaction on Rotten Tomatoes. Biographical true-story, directed by John Lee Hancock and written by Robert D. Siegel. Michael Keaton plays Ray Kroc, a salesman who recognizes a good thing, when he buys a hamburger and fries at one of several small restaurants in Los Angeles, owned by the MacDonald brothers, played by John Carroll Lynch and Nick Offerman. Seeing the potential for world-domination, Kroc buys the company, the rest is history. Michael Keaton always wins the crowd.

Split. DVD, Blue-Ray. IMDB pro-rating 7.4 with 75% satisfaction on Rotten Tomatoes. M. Night Shyamalan returns in good form for this psychological thriller starring James McAvoy who sells the story with great performances of a man with 23 recognizable split personalities, but the 24th, the last to reveal itself to his psychiatrist, played by Betty Buckley, is the most dangerous. Some scenes are meant to be watched with your eyes closed! Blumhouse is a producer. M. Night Shyamalan directs and pens the comeback script.

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDB pro-rating 6.2. An animated action adventure of the Superhero task force who gets a new member, who seems to be working for the dark side. Directed by Sam Liu, inspired by the book, The Judas contract by Marv Wolfman with a script by George Perez and Ernie Altbacker. Stars Christina Ricci, Taissa Farmiga, Miguel Ferrar, and Kari Wahlgren.

Sleepless. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDB pro-rating 5.5 with 18% approval on Rotten Tomatoes. How Jamie Foxx could get such a  low approval rating is a waste of great talent, but it happens to the best of them. Jamie plays a cop immersed in a corrupt system, but when his son is kidnapped in connection with a crime, he has one night to save his life. Directed by Baran Odar with a script by Frederic Jardin, Nicolas Saada and Olivier Douyere. Octavius J. Johnson plays Jamie’s son.

Punching Henry. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDB pro-rating 5.5. Comedy about Henry Phillips, a comedian who plays guitar and sings his streams of consciousness while encouraging the audiences to throw things if they aren’t enjoying the show. Directed by Gregori Viens. Ellen Ratner, Mike Judge, Mark Cohen and Clifton Collins Jr., also star.
