The Nice Guys. DVD. Blue Ray. Rated R.  IMDB pro-rating 7.6. 91% approval on Rotten Tomatoes. Two superb stars join forces for this tongue in cheek comedy/action mystery. Who couldn’t watch Ryan Gosling for 2 hours and Russell Crowe’s stouter new look still has sex appeal. Holland March (Ryan Gosling) is a down-on-his-luck private eye in 1977 Los Angeles. Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) is a hired enforcer who hurts people for a living. Fate turns them into unlikely partners after a young woman named Amelia (Margaret Qualley) mysteriously disappears. Healy and March soon learn the hard way that some dangerous people are also looking for Amelia. Their investigation takes them to dark places as anyone else who gets involved in the case seems to wind up dead. Kim Basinger has a bit more than a cameo and is still one of the best looking actresses in Hollywood. Go Kim! (Basinger)

The Man Who Knew Infinity. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDB pro-rating 7.5. Rated PG-13. Dev Patel play Ramanugen. A brilliant young scholar and mathematician, newly married living in India. He writes a note to a noted professor, Jeremy Irons, at Trinity College in England, and his genius is instantly recognized. The professor brings Ramanugen to England. This is 1933, and racism isn’t even a word yet, but the English are not hospitable to Ramanugen because of his skin color and language barrier. But when he gets going with Jeremy and they make algebra seem dazzling and exciting, it is sure to satisfy the most discriminating movie watcher.
