When he was 10 years old, a family friend made him a puppet theater, which he used to put on shows. Later, he was given a book on ventriloquism written by the legendary Ray Alan. His hobby became an obsession and soon a career. From Royal Variety Performances to comedy festivals around the globe, Zerdin is constantly breaking new ground, all of which has established him at the forefront of his profession.

We were honored to speak with winner Paul Zerdin on a live phone chat the morning after his big win.

The British native said he was absolutely stunned by his victory, feeling runner up- stuttering comedian Drew Lynch, would be taking home the million dollar prize. He narrowly nudged the Indianapolis funny man, who brought the audience to tears with his talent, out of the top spot.

The show was the top TV series of the summer.
