Every night before bed I watch ‘The Golden Girls’. I have seen every episode at least twice. When you hear that theme song you can’t help but sing along and smile. If you’re like me and love the show and you live in Los Angeles this is your golden opportunity.
The Golden Girls Kitchen is now open to the public where you can experience the world of this loved series. There are photo ops throughout including the kitchen, lanai and Blanche’s room full of palm print. I do wish it were bigger with more places to take photos like an actual lanai, maybe The Rusty Anchor and props like Sophia’s purse.
It officially opened on July 30, which is also National Golden Girls Day. After its run in Beverly Hills, the restaurant will go on tour, hitting New York, Miami, San Francisco and Chicago in the coming months, through Spring 2023.
The show is now more popular than ever with a younger generation getting into it along with all the reruns for OG fans to watch. The show was so ahead of its time subject wise and so quick witted.
Reservations are available through the official website. Tickets include choice of entree (with options like Sophia’s Lasagna Al Forno or a “Miami style” Cuban sandwich) and of course there’s cheesecake!
