About

Let me introduce myself, I’m Ilana a.k.a. Miz Hollywood. I don’t remember exactly how I came up with the name but one night I had a dream and boom there it was.

I live in Los Angeles, but was born and raised in Modesto, California. I went to the same junior high and high school as my dad and my aunt. At times it was hard to get away with anything when almost everyone knows your family. Then again, I wouldn’t change it for the world now. The community was such a huge part of my childhood.

When I was younger I was always fascinated with the entertainment industry. I knew what I wanted to do since the age of 6. I thought it was normal to bring pictures of Oprah to show and tell and sing Broadway songs. I dreamed of meeting my idols Oprah, Rosie and Madonna and one day winning an Emmy. I used to sign autographs for my friends and thank them.

I loved musicals but can’t really sing but I joined Youth Entertainment Stage Company (Y.E.S. Company) and Modesto Performing Arts. I learned what being a part of a team was and what working together was all about.  The arts are very important to me.

I moved to LA and attended California State University Northridge, where I got my degree in Broadcast Journalism. Upon graduating, I was hired as a Production Assistant for KTLA but was recruited shortly thereafter by an independent station where I was given a chance to work on my own talk show. Following that I got into a one-year program at KNBC as an Editorial Assistant and Associate Producer. I have been lucky enough to be featured on KTLA, KNBC, KNBC News Raw as an Entertainment Correspondent, Associated Content, CNN report, and numerous blogs.

Through the years I have been able to interview such celebrities like: Jay LenoDoris Roberts, Glee casting director Robert Ulrich, Russell Horsby from Grimm, actress and comedienne Sarah Colonna and more.

I am very excited to share with you MizHollywood.com. This has been a dream of mine for many years. I will be brining you entertainment stories, celebrity interviews, trivia and so much more.

As my grandma used to say “Right Foot Forward”! All the best to you!
