Detroit. True Story. IMDB pro-rating 7.6 with a 95% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes. It was 50 years ago that 3 innocent people were brutalized by the Detroit police. The incident sparked an outrage in an already racially on edge community and culminated in riots so fierce the National Guard had to be brought in, and Detroit has never completely recovered. Katherine Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) directs from a Mark Boal screenplay. It stars John Boyega, Jacob Latimore and Algee Smith.

The Dark Tower. Sci-Fi/Fantasy. IMDB pro-rating 7.3. The Stephen King story, directed by Nikolaj Arcel. Nikolaj adapted the screenplay along with Akiva Goldsman, Jeff Pinkener, and Anders Thomas Jensen. Idris Elba is the good, battling the Dark Man Matthew McConaughey , who is evil. Idris must defend the tower, but if he fails, it is the end of the universe. Good vs. Evil. Abbey Lee also stars.

Kidnap. Crime Thriller. IMDB pro-rating 6.1 with a 84% approval on Google. A woman will do anything it takes to save her kidnapped son. Halle Berry stars with Lew Temple and Dana Gaurrier.
