Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, man at center of Manti Te’o fake girlfriend hoax speaks out to Dr. Phil

The first part of the Ronaiah Tuiasosopo interview with Dr. Phil aired Thursday.

The whole thing was extremely confusing and overwhelming. This really seemed like a Lifetime movie.

Ronaiah told Dr. Phil that he made Lennay Kekua up from names he had heard. He made up a Facebook profile for her and met Manti Te’o through a cousin on there.

Ronaiah didn’t make up the relationship for money. He didn’t get anything out of the relationship.

He spoke about Lennay as a completely different person. It was not him.

The weirdest thing in all of this if you can believe it, was that during this whole hoax he went and met Manti as himself. He said he wanted to tell him what was going on but couldn’t.

Dr. Phil asked him if he was gay. Ronaiah responded and said he is confused.

When asked if he could do Lennay’s voice he couldn’t do it. He was pushed to the extreme and just couldn’t do it. Dr. Phil gave the FBI his voice and “Lennay’s” voice and they said it’s 1 in 10 million it’s not his voice.

Then when asked if he ever forgot to do the voice he said that would be a rookie mistake. I’m sorry does he do this that often.

Why did he have to kill Lennay off? Well get this…Ronaiah was mad at Manti because he was speaking to other girls and said he didn’t need Lennay anymore. Ronaiah was done. He thought he would be ok so it was time to let go of Lennay.

Part 2 of the interview will air on Dr. Phil tomorrow.
