Aaron Sorkin dissects Genoa’s Holes on HBO’s The Newsroom

Inside the newsroom and genoa with aaron sorkin

If you haven’t been watching The Newsroom on HBO you’re missing out. This is one of the best shows on TV by far.

It has been a great season by far. “Operation Genoa,” is a tip that Cyrus West (a guest on The Newsroom) gave Jerry Dantana (a producer)  that the Americans used sarin (nerve) gas on civilians during an extraction. In fact, one of the Special Forces members behind the gassing provided the information. If true, what the Special Forces soldier is alleging would be a war crime.

After weeks of finding witnesses and flashbacks they finally go with the story. Come to find out Jerry Dantana gets fired for selective editing and sues ACN for wrongful termination. Charlie Skinner’s (who helps run ACN) source purposely burned him over personal issues and made it false. All the witnesses start falling apart. McKenzie McHale, Will McAvoy and Charlie Skinner offer to resign. They are no longer trusted by the public. News Night is about reporting the actual news and the truth. The Defense Department decides to take legal action against the network.
