A little bit disco and all DIY electronic pop — Captain Capa comes straight out of Germany ready to jolt the Warped tour faithful with their electrifying sound. Headed by the joint forces of Hannes Naumann and Maik Biermann, Captain Capa takes away from the best of modern-day club music and the early 2000s alternative emo era to create an eclectic blend of energetic electronic pop music that will make listeners feel like they’re reminiscing on the dance floor at this year’s Warped tour.
No strangers to the tour, this will be the second time the band have travelled to the States to take part in the Vans Warped tour, following a leg spent on the 2012 festival circuit. “This time we’ll be around for all of the 42 shows, spending our entire summer in this crazy parallel universe that is called Warped. We can’t wait to perform the songs of FOXES right where they were created in the first place,” the band have said of the announcement.
Captain Capa is the sum of Hannes Naumann as the singer, writer, producer and keys and Maik Biermann on guitar, vocoder, and keys. Falling somewhere between Crystal Castle’s gritty electronic noise and Breathe Carolina’s polished pop production, Captain Capa manages to create a genre-bending electronic pop sound all their own. Also being heavily influenced by bands such as Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday, Captain Capa live is equal parts garage punk concert and electronic pop show with their performances being super personal and connected to their audience.
