DENZEL WASHINGTON IS A WORKING ACTOR!

According to DENZEL WASHINGTON, nominated for a 2013 BEST ACTOR OSCAR, for his portrayal of Whip, a man in crisis in BEST FILM nominee FLIGHT, he is not a celebrity — just a working actor!

Since his first major role on TV’s, ST. ELSEWHERE, Denzel hasn’t stopped working.

Famous for portraying real people, “D” has played Rubin Carter in HURRICANE, for which he won a GOLDEN GLOBE, MALCOLM X in the Spike Lee film of the same name, Steve Biko, founder of the Black Consciousness Movement in CRY FREEDOM, and drug kingpin, Frank Lucas, in AMERICAN GANGSTER.

In his free time “D” is devoted husband to Pauletta Washington and Dad to their four children.

He  has two  OSCARS to his credit so far. The 1989 BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR, for GLORY, and the 2001 BEST ACTOR for TRAINING DAY. He received a TONY AWARD in 2010, for the revival of August Wilson’s classic drama, FENCES.

“D” s twenty million dollar paycheck for the film,  SAFE HOUSE, helped secure his CELEBRITY ANGEL status, with multi-million dollar donations being made to: The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Fordham University (his Alma Mater), The Fisher Houses, and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
