Ed Sheeran Released ‘Thinking Out Loud’ to Help Friend Pay Off Mortgage

Ed Sheeran always seemed to me like a great guy! This just proves it. The singer paid off a friends mortgage with one song credit.

The singer told The Mirror that he co-wrote his successful hit single “Thinking out Loud” during a session because he had to help his friend Amy Wadge pay of her bills.

“[Wadge] was going through financial troubles about a year ago,” Ed said. “She drove to my house — my album was nearly done — and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff.”

“While she was there, we wrote ‘Thinking Out Loud,’” he added. “Now she never has to worry about money again.”

“Thinking Out Loud” is now a multi-platinum-selling song. Ed will re-release the collection as a special double disc, X-Wembled Edition, featuring three new tracks including his Rudimental collaboration “Lay It All On Me.”

Now, if we all had a friend like Ed Sheeran…ahhh one can dream!
