There are not many bands out there I am fans of. I like songs here and there but I am obsessed with the band FUN!
They brought us the hit song “We are Young”, which you hear every 5 minutes now on the radio. I just heard their new song “Some Nights” while driving and 10 seconds into the song I had in cranked up. There is something about this song that is just amazing. It’s like an anthem or something I can’t explain it. The video is just as great as the song it takes place during the Civil War.
Choosing “Some Nights” to be the second single was not as straightforward a decision as the one to push “We Are Young” first. “We Are Young,” according to all three of the members of fun., just felt like a single. It’s inviting, says Ruess, and it strikes the perfect balance of mass appeal and adherence to the band’s identity, agrees Antonoff. But “Some Nights” is less more of a mission statement. The phrase came from a lyric in the song “Stars,” which is the oldest and final song on the album, and it was always intended as a title track.TIME
These guys are definitely going to be nominated for a Grammy if not many. The album is genius and this song is amazing.
Every time I hear this song I want to crank the radio as high up as I can and sing as loud as I can. It’s my new “IT” song. What do you think? What is your “IT” song right now?
