Cory Monteith Dead at 31

It is with great sadness that we report that Glee star Cory Monteith was found death at Vancouver’s Fairmonth Pacific Rim Hotel Saturday.

According to reports the actor was found at noon Saturday. When he missed his checkout time the hotel staff went to his room and discovered his body.

Police said at the press conference he was with other people Friday night and on hotel footage saw him returning to his room early Saturday morning. Police believe he was alone when he died. No cause of dead has been given and no foul play is suspected.
Back in March, Cory checked himself into rehab voluntarily for substance abuse. This was his second time.

Glee executive producers, producers 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Co. said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”

Cory is best known for playing Finn Hudson on Glee since the show debuted in 2009.

Celebrities and co-stars have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts about his passing:

Glee co-star Dot-Marie Jones wrote: I HAVE NO WORDS! MY HEART IS BROKEN CORY WAS NOT ONLY A HELL OF A FRIEND HE WAS ONE AMAZING MEN THAT I WILL HOLD CLOSE TO MY HEART FOREVER

Adam Shankman (who directed the Rocky Horror picture episode) wrote: I will always cherish you in my heart. Thank you for so many wonderful days. I love you CM

Kristin Chenoweth who guest starred on the show multiple times wrote: RIP CoryMontieth. You will be loved. Always.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. The Coroner will be determining the cause of death.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cory’s family and the cast and crew of Glee. He was a great addition to the show and will be extremely missed. He was on my list of people to interview. He just seemed like such a down to earth guy. I hope he is sharing his voice and drumming talents up above.
