Allison Jones and her blind daughter Abigail return to Allison’s childhood hometown after the death of Allison’s beloved aunt. While mother and daughter are reeling from this tragic loss and adjusting to small town life, they encounter Bart McGregor, a helpful local accountant who knew Allison when she was a teenager. But what at first seems like a helpful friendliness soon turns into something more sinister. Bart has harboured a dangerous obsession with Allison for many years, and will do whatever it takes to spend as much time as possible with Allison and Abigail. Abigail, who was at first charmed by the quaint small town, quickly begins to realize that not all is as it seems.

His Perfect Obsession was written and directed by Alexandre Carriere. Also starring Mikael Conde, Tomas Chovanec and Mike Stechyson.

Ari Zucker and Ali Skovbye had a thrilling time filming the Thriller His Perfect Obsession in Ottawa, Canada. Catch our conversations below.

I was familiar with Ari Zucker, a star from Days Of Our Lives and several Lifetime original movies.

What was it like filming His Perfect Obsession?

Ari Zucker. We filmed in Ottawa, but they hadn’t planned on the snow. The crew was so well organized, which is really difficult when there are no fixed sets. It took about 14 days. The cast and crew bonded immediately. It was a fun and rewarding adventure.

Your co-star, Ali Skovbye is only 16. What was it like sharing the spotlight?

Ari Zucker. Ali is a consummate professional. She does her homework and gives her all. I was really impressed with her, we connected immediately, which was great because we play a mother and daughter who have to depend on each other for survival.

What other projects are you working on?

Ari Zucker. I’m doing auditions, but my partner Shawn Christian and I decided to get out of our comfort zones and try something different. We’ve created a travel and lifestyles venue called ‘Lux-Soul Traveler‘. Luxury is really a state of mind, and we wanted to encourage people to get out and try something different. To create a luxury state of mind that is your own.

Ali Skovbye started performing when she was only five years old, following in the footsteps of her older sister, Tiera. By the time she was 7 she was cast in her first feature, ‘Personal Effects’ with Ashton Kutcher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathy Bates. Ali has a recurring role as Lori Loughlin’s adopted daughter in the TV series ‘When Calls the Heart’.

What was it like playing a blind character?

Ali Skovbye. My first time acting in a studio play was as Helen Keller in ‘The Miracle Worker”. It was such a different and unique experience, I jumped at the opportunity to repeat the challenge. The cast was great and Ari and the director, Alexandre Carriere were enormously supportive. It was an amazing!

Have you had formal training or have you learned everything with hands-on experience?

Ali Skovbye. I studied acting at Railtown Actors Studio in Vancouver, where I’m from. I also study at Austin Tuck Studios in Vancouver.

What actor would you most like to work with?

Ali Skovbye. Without a doubt, Meryl Streep! I admire everything she’s done.

What genre is your favorite to perform in?

Ali Skovbye. I enjoy every genre, Comedy, Drama, etc. My favorite are the darker, creepier stories like Horror and Thriller. They are really challenging, fun and offer a lot to play with.

What’s next?

Ali Skovbye. I just finished a feature called Breakthrough, with Chrissy Metz and Marcel Ruiz. Look for it to open in 2019.

Thank you Ari and Ali!
