Just Published, ‘The Lost Princess’, by Lee Tidball.

Author Lee Tidball’s new YA Sci-Fi Fantasy, ‘The Lost Princess’, now available on Amazon. Read the interview.

It was so much fun speaking with Author/Screenwriter Lee Tidball about ‘The Lost Princess‘ (a follow-up companion to ‘The Quinnipiac Disappearance‘), published by Short On Time Books, available on amazon.com.

How did you become hooked on the Sci-Fi Fantasy genre?

Lee Tidball. I love the way ‘Science Fiction’ touches the ‘Real World’. I’m a little embarrassed to say I was always fascinated and inspired by Mattel’s ‘Masters of the Universe‘, comics and books. I even was a fan of the movie!

How would you feel if you knew that as a child, Guillermo del Toro was also inspired by ‘Masters of the Universe’?

Lee Tidball. You can change that to, “I’m proud to say”!

One of the unique and exciting things I enjoyed while reading ‘The Lost Princess’, was how you wove together a magical(dangerous) world in an alternate reality, and the mean streets of LA.

Lee Tidball. That was an important part of my story concept, that the fantasy of Science Fiction is more a part of our reality than people realize.

Your books are mostly written for the Young Adult (YA) brand. Why did you choose the YA market?

Lee Tidball. I was an Elementary school teacher for over twenty-five years. I stayed friendly with many of my students after they graduated, moving on to Middle School and High School. You develop a good sense of what kids are into, what grabs their interest, and keeps them committed to a story and its characters.

I did get a good sense of the challenges, surprises, and angst your characters experience, and the need to know – WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Lee Tidball. Thank you. That’s great news because there is  more to come! I have a sequel relating to The Quinnipiac Disappearance, where we spend an extended time on planet Earth with Princess Giana’s best friend, Nikki. I also have a follow up called ‘The Rylian Princess’, where Gianna spends time (which moves much slower), on the planet where her Dad is the ruler.

Thanks Lee, I’m looking forward to reading the Trilogy.

I did feel ‘The Lost Princess’ would make a great feature. Since you’re already a screenwriter, any chance of adapting the story for the big screen or TV?
