Garrett (Cameron Debo) returns home with a new baby daughter. We learn he is a widower who has lost his children in a tragic accident a year earlier.  He is putting his family back together by collecting all the children he sired through being an anonymous sperm donor in college. Jane Carr (Phineas and Ferb) is hired as his nanny while he searches for all of his children. When he locates Jennifer Monroe (Kaitlyn Black) she is still pregnant. Garrett befriends her with the disguise of being a new neighbor. Jennifer welcomes him into her life, not realizing he plans to kidnap her baby once it is born.

Kaitlyn Black stars in ‘Killer Single Dad’, being confronted by the anonymous sperm donor intent on taking his baby.

What inspired you to enter show business?

Kaitlyn Black. Being a performer is in my DNA. My Grandmother owned a dance studio in Ohio, I think I learned to dance before I could walk! My family always took me to the theater.  I couldn’t wait to be on stage. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Kent State University, and I spent several years as Dance Captain in the ensemble casts for dinner theater, performing in – Anything Goes, Cats, Beauty and the Beast, and Chorus Line.

You’ve acted in some strong and gritty roles lately. How does it feel to play such multi-dimensional characters?

Kaitlyn Black. For a woman, not always being cast as the wife or straight man, feels great. I love being an actress and the craft of acting. I played a mercenary on NCIS, and an additional episode as a woman who leads a double life. Do Not Reply, currently in post-production, is a Psychological Thriller. I decided to write and star in my first comedic short concept film Relationship Deli, to remind people I still do comedy! My friend Kelly Vroomer gave me some pointers on writing comedy and I just went for it. It’s about a dating service where you get to pick the ingredients of your date. Look for it appearing in the Short Film Festivals this summer.

Tell us about your first big break as Annabeth, in ‘Hart of Dixie’.

Kaitlyn Black. I started out with a small part.  I loved my character and the series became a hit. In the second season I was brought back as a central character. In the third season I was cast as a regular. I am so grateful to the fans who really made it happen, as well as my manager, Spencer Robinson from Artwork Entertainment, and my agent, Mark Scroggs of Prestige Talent. They are my L.A. family.

What would you like your fans to know about ‘Killer Single Dad’ ?

Kaitlyn Black. I have to hand it to LIFETIME. They are a professional, well-oiled machine offering grounding, suspenseful entertainment that weaves reality with exaggeration just enough to make the audience feel it could be real. We shot Killer Single Dad in only fifteen days! They had a dinner party before production so that everyone could meet and form a relationship. I didn’t have any scenes with Jane Carr, but I got to know her at the party. Working with Cameron Jebo was wonderful. He was funny, supportive and professional.

What’s next for Kaitlyn Black?

Kaitlyn Black. I’d like to do some Shakespeare. I had a small role as Marianna in All’s Well That Ends Well, but I’d love to play Pippin!

Thanks Kaitlyn.
