When a successful business man takes his pregnant girlfriend on a ‘Babymoon’ trip to a luxury resort, they learn his ex-wife has followed them, determined to ruin their dream vacation in“KILLER VACATION” PREMIERING ON NOVEMBER 23 (8PM ET/PT) ON LMN
Lindsey (Havins, “All My Children”, “The Astronaut Wives Club”) and Jake (Jacob Young, “The Bold and The Beautiful”) have been together for two years, ever since he discovered his wife was having an affair. When she finds out she is pregnant, he is thrilled and tells her they will get married the day his divorce is final. He has to attend a business conference in New Mexico and invites Lindsey to join him for a romantic “babymoon.”
They check into an upscale resort and decide to go on a hike. When Lindsey falls behind and can’t find Jake, she nearly falls to her death when the trail gives way! When they return to the resort, they find that Jake’s soon to be ex-wife, Gwen (Avery Clyde, “SWAT”), has arrived to surprise Jake. He insists to Lindsey that this is the perfect time to get her to sign divorce papers. He will have them drafted and make sure she signs them before they leave.
At dinner later than night, Lindsey has a freak accident that almost kills her. She is saved by Chad, the yoga instructor at the resort. Lindsey sees a woman who looks like Gwen walking away from the scene of the accident. When she confronts her, Gwen insists she is only there to warn Lindsey. There was no affair and there will be no divorce. Jake sleeps with pretty young girls but when they get too close, he takes them on vacation and they never come back.
Is Gwen telling the truth or just trying to get Jake back? Is Jake trying to kill the girlfriend he never intends to marry? Whatever it is, it looks like the dream vacation has turned from idyllic to deadly!
So great to speak with Alexa Havins about her thriving career, and being a hands on Mom of 3 with her husband, and All My Children co-star Justin Bruening.
How did it feel to be reunited with your ‘All My Children’ co-star, Emmy winning actor Jacob Young?
Alexa Havins. I was happily surprised. I didn’t know who my co-star was until I got to the set and saw Jacob! I think our fans will appreciate watching us in Killer Vacation. It’s a real thriller! We were known for our romantic chemistry on set, and were voted one of the top ten soap opera couples by Soap Opera Digest.
It’s been a long time since you worked together, what has changed?
Alexa Havins. We both have 3 children, for starters! We always had a dynamic working relationship. Working with Jacob is a dream, he is generous and supportive. He’s a family man and we had a lot of fun sharing stories of the joy of being parents. He’s also a great singer, often singing and playing his guitar on breaks. Check out his new song on Spotify ‘We Danced’. Jacob puts his whole heart into everything he does.
How was filming ‘Killer Vacation’ different than filming a soap opera?
Alexa Havins. Honestly, not that much different. There is a lot of dialogue you have to learn in a hurry, and a pressure to get the job done. Everyone has to be on their A game, because of the time factor. Of course, filming the TV movie was great because we got to be outside in Arizona, where I grew up. I love working outside in the natural landscape, and then we got to film at a luxury resort! What could be better than that?
What’s it like being a working Mom?
Alexa Havins. I am very relaxed about it. Justin and I are united in our belief, ‘the kids come first’. In this business, you can have weeks free, and then suddenly a job. If we can take the kids with us we do. They love it, and they gain so much from hands on learning. Fortunately, my parents are more than willing to spend quality time with their grandchildren when necessary.
What’s next for Alexa Havins?
Alexa Havins. I can’t say much, other than the fact that I will be appearing in the new season of ‘BARRY’, on HBO. I am so excited!
