Writer/Director Linda Palmer with Producer and good friend Rae Davis

It was so much fun speaking with Writer/Director Linda Palmer and Producer Rae Davis. These girls are making magic, having fun, and grinding through the tough stuff with homemade cherry turnovers!

How did you ladies meet?

Rae Davis: We met on Facebook because we are both passionate Halloween enthusiasts! We formed a Radio Broadcast called “BAT CHAT”

Linda Palmer: From there we learned we had a mutual friend who was working on my Award Winning short film Our Father (story by David Mayhak, screenplay by Linda Palmer), starring Michael Gross. Rae loved the story, became an Executive Producer for Our Father, and Last Call At Murray’s and we’ve been creating together ever since.

Paul Guilfoyle, Captain Jim Brass from the CSI Police Drama, plays the main character in Turnover. How did that manifest?

Linda Palmer: The script! Paul had read the story and was captivated. He really wanted to play the part and auditioned. He was fantastic. We didn’t have to do anything but say “You’re hired!”

Rae Davis: Paul’s eagerness to play the part and his skills in bringing the character to life were inspirational to everyone on the set. We all earned so much from him.

Tell me a little about creating “Our Father” starring Michael Gross.

Linda Palmer. It was an emotional concept based on a true life experience about an estanged father, suffering from late stage dementia, who experiences a moment of clarity where he reveals secrets about his family, and his often bad’ behavior, that implements healing and a kind of peace to everyone. Michael Gross really connected to the father role. It won over twenty awards; The Big Island Film Festival Golden Honu Award, IdyllwildInternationa Festival of Cinema Award, The Mary Austin Award, A Los Angeles International Film Fest Award and a Maverick Movie Award, among others.

What are you currently working on?

Rae Davis: Carbon Dating, a web series available on YouTube for starters. It’s about two middle-aged baby boomer women trying to navigate love and laughter in a youth oriented society.

Linda Palmer: Civil Disobedience, an anthology of short stories dealing with socially relevant issues and hosted by guests.

What do you foresee for your filmmaking future?

Linda Palmer: We just invested in a really cool Film Camera!
