Marvel’s “The Avengers” Shattering Records

As the May 4th release for the Marvel movie draws near, the pre-sale numbers being generated across seas is rising. The project opening in 42 countries has been substantially outselling other blockbusters like Spiderman 3, The Dark Knight, and Harry Potter’s final installment.

That is the estimate US dollar amount, as of today, for ticket pre-sales Deadline Hollywood reports. They continue to include that number only illustrates a small portion, as only 10 of the 42 countries have provided this information. The most impressive of the 10 are; Australia (6.2M), Italy (2.7M), and France (2.9M).

As for the United States, MovieTickets.com reports that “The Avengers,”

”is pre-selling more tickets for the upcoming release than the online ticketing company sold for Captain AmericaThorIron Man 2, and Iron Man combined at the same point in the sales cycle for each film. In fact, pre-sales are over 1 1/2-times that of these past Marvel films combined sales at the same point in the sales cycle”.
