Michelle Obama Raps and Sings with James Corden in #CarpoolKaraoke

Michelle Obama was laying it down with James Corden in Carpool Karaoke. The First Lady told Corden this was only the second time she’s been allowed to ride in the front seat of a car in the last 8 years. The only other time was briefly when she was teacher her daughter Malia how to drive.

First up, they sang to Stevie Wonder which is Michelle Obama’s favorite singer. She says she knows all of his songs. Then they put their hands up on Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.” “We were making honey in the [Bey]hive,” said Mrs. Obama, “To put in ourLemonade!”

Then they sang Michelle Obama’s new anthem for her Let Girls Learn initiative, “This Is For My Girls.” The initiative aims to help the “62 million girls worldwide who aren’t in school for different reasons,” she said. “So much could be corrected if girls were educated and had power over their lives.” The song was written by Diane Warren that features Kelly Clarkson, Janelle Monae, and Missy Elliott, who popped out of of nowhere in the backseat to deliver her rap verse.

You can’t have Missy Elliott in the car without doing “Get Ur Freak On.” And yes, the first lady knew every single word.
