New The Girl on the Train Trailer : Emily Blunt Gives Chilling Performance #TheGirlOnTheTrain

The new trailer is out for the movie version of The Girl on the Train! Emily Blunt gives a chilling performance as she learns to not trust herself. In the movie the action goes from London to New York but if you haven’t read the book it’s not going to matter.

The movie seems very much like Gone Girl in many ways. Both are based on best-selling novels; both center on a woman who has disappeared; both take full advantage of unreliable or, at least, incomplete narration. In this case, our narrator is alcoholic, heartbroken Rachel Watson (Blunt), who is making a mess of her life post-divorce. She finds herself wrapped up in the disappearance of her ex-husband’s nanny, Megan Hipwell (Haley Bennett). Readers of the book (and, soon, viewers of the film!) race to solve the mystery faster than poor Rachel’s booze-clouded brain.

Joining Emily Blunt in the cast: Laura Prepon, Haley Bennett, Luke Evans, Justin Theroux, Allison Janney and Lisa Kudrow.

She put herself in a dangerous position. #TheGirlOnTheTrain is in theaters October 7.
