J.K. Simmons picked up a Best Supporting Actor for his role as an abusive music teacher in ‘Whiplash’ now available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

The International Movie Data Base (IMDB) is the industry standard for critical and customer satisfaction.

LASH

Whiplash. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDB Pro-rating 8.6. Whiplash is also running a 95% satisfaction rate on Rotten Tomatoes. This low-budget Indie drama about a school band and its music students who are driven to high achievement by a teacher using fear and punishment tactics started getting Oscar buzz a year ago when it first premiered at Sundance. Long time good guy J.K. Simmons goes rogue in his performance as the sadistic teacher, not only garnering him a Best Supporting Actor nomination but the Oscar prize as well. Miles Teller is the sincere student drummer who learns that the path to greatness can be brutal.

BOSSES

Horrible Bosses 2. DVD. Blue-Ray. IMDB Por-rating 6.5. With a stellar ensemble cast it’s hard to believe this sequel is only mildly entertaining. Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis reprise their roles as the boys set out to start their own business and end up performing a botched kidnapping. Chris Pine, Cristoph Waltz, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx and several other famous faces lend support to this not terrible comedy.
