I was fortunate to be able to chat and have a few laughs with Randy Miller, a radio funny man and all-around inspiration for the immense value a person brings to the table just by being their true self.

Randy, I know you are busy doing promo for your book, what keeps you motivated?

Randy Miller. I’m a people person, I love talking with people from all over the country. This morning I had a conversation with Ex-President George W. Bush, who also has a new book coming out, they are his portraits of immigrants. When I asked him who he would like to see portray him in a movie he answered immediately, Will Ferrell! He has a great sense of humor!

What got you started with your hilarious ‘bingeworthy’ radio shows?

Randy Miller. April Fool’s Day! We started by having two guys, in orange jumpsuits, hand-cuffed together and we had them go up to people’s houses, knock on their door and then ask if they had a hacksaw they could borrow. Well, this caused a big sensation but everyone was very good-natured about it. Another time we had a “Free Money Parade”. We took the mobile studio on the road and we took about $12,000 dollars in fives and tens and rolled them up in tubes and threw them out the window at the followers. The people went crazy! They almost tipped over our mobile truck in all the excitement.

What is this famous ‘Purse Lady’ you are talking about?

Randy Miller. It’s a chapter in the book. Basically, I was in a parking lot and I see this lady put her purse on top of her car as she was loading her packages inside, but then she got in and drove away! The purse was still on top of the car. I started beeping my horn and calling out to her, but she misinterpreted my intentions and flipped me off. The bag fell off the roof of her car as she sped away. I picked up the purse and then announced that I had it on the radio show the next day. It was a really funny back and forth of her calling in and cursing me and accusing me of stealing it and an onslaught of funny drama ensued for several days.

I laughed throughout the entire interview. Thanks Randy!
