Beth Broderick and Andrea Bogart in 'Seduced By My Neighbor'

“SEDUCED BY MY NEIGHBOR” Thriller, AIRS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11 (8PM ET/PT) ON LIFETIME

A single Mom moves into a neighborhood and starts dating a firefighter,  infuriating the neighborhood watch leader who is obsessed with her. He’s determined to get rid of the competition.

Beth Broderick, Andrea Bogart, Rocky Myers, Sierra McCormick and Trevor St. John star.

Sarah Goodwin (Andrea Bogart, “Ray Donovan,” “Zac & Mia”) decides to move to the suburbs two years after the death of her husband, to raise her teenage daughter, Allie (Sierra McCormick, “A.N.T. Farm”) in a close knit community.

When they move in, they are welcomed by Mike Aaron (Trevor St. John, One Life to Live,”), leader of the neighbor watch.  Mike feels an instant connection to the mother and daughter as he lost his own wife and child years earlier in an accident.  He promises Sarah she will always be safe.

Sarah takes a job at a local nursing home where she can take care of her mother-in-law, Gladys (Beth Broderick, “Safe Objects”).  Gladys encourages Sarah to start dating again and introduces her to Chris (Rocky Myers) a local firefighter and son of a fellow resident.

While Sarah and Mike are out one evening having a friendly drink, Sarah gets a call that there is a fire at her house.  The two rush out and find that Allie brought some friends home for a pool party and one of them put tin foil in the mircrowave.  Fortunately, the damage is minimal thanks to the quick thinking of one of the firefighters, who just happens to be Chris.  When Sarah thanks him for saving her home, he asks her to dinner and she accepts.  Mike overhears this and is wrought with jealousy.

Mike goes to see Gladys hoping to convince her to get Sarah to call off the date.  He wants to be the one taking care of Sarah and her daughter.  His temper scares Gladys who starts to call the police, but before she connects the call, Mike attacks her and winds up killing her.  He runs off before he can be discovered.

Chris gets a call from his mother who heard the struggles and realizes Gladys was murdered.  Before he can get to Sarah’s house, he is knocked out by Mike, who has been following him.  He stows the body in his trunk and drives over to Sarah’s house offering to take her and Allie to the nursing home.  But instead he drives them to a remote area where he intends to get rid of his rival and make a new family.  It’s now up to mother and daughter to save Chris and themselves from this obsessive murderous neighbor.

I had the opportunity to speak with the upbeat stars of ‘Seduced by my Neighbor’, about making the film, and what’s next.

Andrea Bogart stars in ‘Seduced By My Neighbor on LIFETIME. Andrea was gracious to speak with me while holding 15 month old baby daughter, Emory.

What made you choose the script for ‘Seduced By My Neighbor’?

Andrea Bogart. First, I was recommended by Sam Irvin, the director. I had worked with him on another film. It was an honor that he thought I would be able to bring the emotional character needed for this challenging thriller. Also, I felt it was a story that had many of the challenges of real life, so it would be relatable to audiences. A wife and mother of a teenage daughter has gone through one of the most traumatic experiences of her life (losing her husband), and now she is trying to pick up the pieces and continue her journey of life.

What’s it like being a working Mom?

Andrea Bogart. It’s fantastic! I love it and it’s my first priority. Fortunately, my husband can arrange his schedule to travel with me,  I can be on set and still have my family nearby. I’m a certified Yoga instructor, and I think having that foundation really helps in keeping me balanced and grateful. When I have free time I teach Yoga in this gorgeous garden in my home community. What could be better?

You’ve done many dramatic roles, is Drama your preferred genre?

Andrea Bogart. Actually, I would love to do more comedy, that’s really calling out to me now. Oh, and a Holiday movie. I’m a Christmas junkie!

What was it like playing the intense and demanding role of Gladys in ‘Seduced By My Neighbor’?

Beth Broderick. I identified immediately with her attitude ‘KEEP SMILING”. She is a woman who has lost both her husband and her son. Her freedom is compromised by her debilitating illness, so she has to move to a nursing home. Most people would lose all their spunk, but not Gladys, she’s not going to bring rain to any parade.

You’re busier than ever, what is your favorite part of being an actress?

Beth Broderick. I am grateful and fortunate that I never  had to hem myself in. My work has been diverse and challenging. I’ve been able to perform in all sorts of roles, from the comedic to the dramatic. I also love all my wonderful friends. I am still good friends with so many people I’ve worked with. We’re like family. I’m in still in touch with Melissa Joan Hart from when we did ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’.

I know that you founded the AIDS Charity MOMENTUM, back in 1984, are you involved with any other charities?

Beth Broderick. My sister, who is also my best friend, and I deliver Gift Baskets every year to the Emergency Good Shepherd Home for Battered Women in Los Angeles. We fill them with all sorts of necessities a woman would need when she has to leave home in a hurry, ie: toothbrush, lotions, make-up, perfume, shampoo, etc. We’ve been doing it for 29 years.

What’s up next for Beth Broderick?

Beth Broderick. Look for me in the upcoming Hallmark movie ‘Romance at Reindeer Lodge, and also in ‘The Becoming’, ‘Purity Falls‘ and ‘The Law of Attraction’.

Trevor St. John plays the villain in ‘Seduced By My Neighbor’.

What was it like playing such an evil character?

Trevor St. John. I love it. It’s great to be the bad guy, especially on a movie like ‘Seduced By My Neighbor’. We shot in Kentucky, I come flying in, we have about 15 days to shoot, I’ve never met anyone in the cast ,and I have to immediately scare everyone to death. The director Sam Irvin made it easy. He was a great guy.

I know you’re also a musician. Are you still performing?

Trevor St. John. No. I was a drummer. It was a big hassle having to lug a drum set with you wherever you go. I’m grateful I became an actor.

What else are you working on?

Trevor St. John. I’m a series regular on the CW reboot of the Sci-Fi ROSWELL, New Mexico. I play Mannes. Look for it to premiere in early 2019.

Catch ‘Seduced By My Neighbor’, this SUnday, November 11, at 8 pm ET/PT.
