Per Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming Star Trek TV series, Star Trek: Discovery, has finally cast the lead role. Sonequa Martin-Green will be the star of the series in a yet unnamed role. Many of you may recognize her from The Walking Dead.
This will mark the first time in Star Trek history, either TV or the films, that an African-American female will be the star of the show!
This series, which will be available on CBS: All Access streaming service in spring of 2017, has yet to film any episodes. Stay tuned for more information as we get it!
