Kill The Messenger is based the true story of Gary Webb, a dedicated reporter for the San Jose Mercury News, who in the 1990’s uncovers the CIA involvement is importing cocaine into California, the funds of which were used to fund the Nicaraguan Contras Rebel Army. When he begins to disclose his story he becomes the target of a vicious smear campaign against himself and his family.
